I think we won't be seeing these things go mainstream unless there is a war. If you can make a design and have some sort of production-line behind it it, militaries will look at you more seriously. ![]() If such a vehicle were to become useful there will be a pre-prepared blueprint for it. Until lighter vehicles have proven themselves this will be on hold. The reason X is not a tank is because X has it's own job that is just as important. It puts the tank on an undeserved pedestal when it's only one piece of a much larger puzzle. This idea of "don't send tanks" has retarded peoples perception. An IFV is not "less than" a tank, it just fulfills a different role. No large cannon and a large part of it's role is to carry infantry. >But then why isn't the M3 Bradley a light tank? It is to mightly armored to be considered a main battle tank so it would probably be called either a light / medium tank or get some unicorn designation like Mobile Protected Firepower or Fire Support Vehicle though. Modern definition is basically, armored vehicle, large caliber cannon, rotating turret, direct fire, pure combat role, it ticks all the boxes for a tank. >Is CV90-120 a tank?
